The main colors of Christmas are Green - represents the continuity of life through winter and Red - representing the blood that Jesus shed when He was crucified. Most of the houses are adorned with these two main colors during the Christmas season.
During the Christmas season we see many festive wreaths gracing the front door of beautifully decorated homes. A Christmas wreath on the front door is a warm and joyous way of saying, “Welcome to my home.” Christmas wreaths should not be displayed solely on the front door to greet guests. They can be used inside the home as well, as a simple, but elegant way to decorate any room in the house. Fresh wreaths add a special fragrance and yuletide charm in any room. Use eucalyptus and berries or fresh evergreens, berries and pine cones. There are many combinations to choose from.
Some of the cards are of beautiful winter scenes, or of Santa, or perhaps of the baby Jesus. These cards are a wonderful way of ending heartfelt wishes to near and dear ones . Use double stick tape or fold over single stick tape making a loop with the sticky on the outside. Now that you have tape with two sticky sides, place the tape on the inside of the cards in one place only, near the edge. Once again, using double stick tape, start placing the cards at the top of the door frame and move across. Select the cards you think look good together. Another way to display your cards is on the door instead of the door frame. Attach ribbons of varying lengths to the back of the cards.
Hang doves from the ceiling with strings of beads in their mouths as though they were flying in and decorating the tree. Use white thread to suspend the birds and pushpins to secure them to the ceiling. One can attach the beads to the birds’ beaks with hot glue or with straight pins. They can also be attached to the feet. The string of beads should be long enough to drape the end over a limb of the tree. Place the doves at different distances from the Christmas tree. The end result should look like the doves are decorating the tree with beads. In addition to hanging birds from the ceiling and placed throughout the tree, place bird nests filled with tiny decorative eggs.
The trees can be adorned by beautiful shiny stars and mistletoe. An angel at the top of the tree is deemed as auspicious. Colourful balls and ribbons on the green tree look dazzling, lifting up spirits in this joyous occasion.
